WHAT IS YOGA FOR YOU?

For me yoga isn’t different from my life in total and as well as in pieces. I never wish to preach without practice. I can’t compromise in it. Since, I’ve started practicing yoga lot of transformation happened. From suppression to transcendence. Being very regular to sadhana (Practice). Being at ease all the time. What is yoga for me? Yoga is a hobby for me. It is a trance in which I feel completely overwhelming. It is a solace to all my psychic wounds. Yoga is like mamma’s lap for me. Whenever there are any issues bothering me, I get lot of moral support from my sadhana. Mamma knows what I want and when. I just start my sadhana without any intention, simply without any intention. At the end what I find is understanding, the better understanding.  Yoga is just not about 8 lymbs for me. It is not like commandments to me. It is just like the way it is. No fight, no escapism, simply the truth minute by minute. What is Yoga for me? Initially, yoga was a way to do lot of Asanas and achi...

Reality...

I was asked where would I see myself after 3 years in this company during my interview. I was wondering why 3 years, it’s too long for me. I’ve answered that I always look forward and whatever task is given to me I make the best out of it. Now, I understand that 3 years is not a long and no matter how best you are. I know it is a bit difficult task for me to put this into words. I see people working in the same level for 7 years to 15 years. I don’t mean same job, I mean same level without any promotion. In many cases, not to blame anyone else other than themselves. Because, there is no aspiration to achieve more. It is said that, “If you have to achieve what you don’t have, you need to do what you have never done before.” It inspires me whenever I think of this.  I heard many people saying that it is skin-biased world and I don’t get back anything though I’ve been loyal to this company. What I say is “Not to get disappointed and become robotic, there will be a decision time...

La Digue Trip

It’s second time that I’ve been to La Digue the nearby island. I had no hopes that I would visit that place again when I’d been there last year. Saw the notice board “Day trip to La Digue”. Signed up excitingly. The day has come that was on 7th of March. Settled down in the ferry. One of my colleagues was taking seasick pills to take off the journey on the Indian ocean. I was really enjoying the ride on the waves. It was a different experience travelling by ferry in the ocean. It was reminding me my days in Mumbai. I was going by much smaller ferry on many of Sundays to reach the meditation center to spend my whole day. I feel good for doing that even living in the busiest city of India.  Last year took a seat inside the ferry reason being there were no seats on the top. This time could find some on the top and enjoyed thoroughly. Ocean water was coming all over very often; the taste of the mouth was becoming salty. I was wondering how the sailors’ and fishermen’s life would...

Saw my Grand Ma

Wandered all around the farm though I was recovering from my leg injury. I don't know when I will get a chance to have a look again. The smell of the soil was making me so pleasant. Felt as if I was there for years. Sat for a while under my favorite guava tree. Few feet away my eldest sister has been resting under the soil for 13 years. She left us hoping that the rest of the family would be benefited. Poor girl.  The coconut trees reminded me of my hard toil. Today, they are too tall. I can't climb up them any more. At the same time, I’ve recognized that the farm was lacking some trees that I’ve been watching since my childhood. This kind of incidents waver my aspirations of protecting/planting more and more trees. I used to think of buying all the trees around the village and putting a label on them to protect from cutting off. How greenish it used to be. I don’t think I am too far from doing that.  Followed the old path after checking everything around in the fa...

One year away from India...

Recently finished one year away from my home country. The main difficulty was with the food. Managed with dal (Lentil) throughout the year. Once a while some vegetable curries which means a feast. It was out of my expectations that someone would eat meat right from the morning till I've reached this island (Seychelles). If you are wondering what I'm doing here. Here is the answer; I'm working as a yoga instructor for a 5 star resort. My yoga friends told that they were hoping that I would teach yoga in any holistic place in a holistic manner. I think, I've disappointed many people by joining a 5 star resort. What should I tell about my work place? Recently I heard two of my colleagues talking 1St colleague: This world is unfair, look at all those Christmas gifts which are being packed to distribute to our rich guests who don't need them and nothing is being done about poor people who are really in need. 2nd Colleague: Oh come on, before questioning someone else, i...

My Grand Ma

Me and my siblings call her 'Ma' (Mamma). We never called her 'Grand Ma'. If we did she would get angry though she is around 80 years old now. There are so many memories around her. There is so much of inspiration which she ignited in me unknowingly/innocently. Some memories make me cry like a child. I wish I ever be a small kid crying in my grand Ma's lap. But, what to do? Time never stops. What ever it is she is closer to my heart even being thousands of miles away... The last time when I was leaving her, she brought a bag and emptied in front of me and told me to take all the money she saved probably for quite long time mentioning that the money would help me as I was going too far away (Mumbai). She persuaded me a lot to accept. I was weeping in side. I didn't at all accept. I was very adamant on my decision. It was the very same day my brother got married in the morning. That was the only reason which made me to stay at home till that day. Anyway...

On The Waters

All the things are difficult before they are easy. I'm not trying to endorse what someone has said earlier. I thought it is more appropriate to start with that sentence this time. It was few days ago I read about surfing lessons for the staff on the notice board and signed up very excitingly. But, I was wondering that I might end up in embarrassment reason being didn't know anything about surfing. It makes me laugh when I remember that I didn't even know that it is to go with the tides or against to the tides. Mandy was the surfing instructor, I didn't ask her anything expecting that when I will go to the waves I will see. I took some chances at the beginning to understand. Then fun began riding on surfing board. Wow, what an interesting sport it is!!! It was same excitement which I had when I started riding bicycle on my own for the first time. Learning new things has always been very exciting.
